WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Elaine Scott’s daughter, Emily, was born 25 years ago. And when Emily was diagnosed with Down syndrome, Elaine sought out a support group for parents like her.

“I sent out 135 invitations for a coffee at my home and, low and behold, a large group of individuals came with their children,” she said. “And at that meeting, we decided that we would all like to continue meeting on a regular basis.”
