We are excited to extend our opportunities for employment to our CCDSIG members. The Inquiry Form is attached. \nAn update:\nThe Kati Mac Education Foundation transitioned the ownership of Kati Mac Floral Design on June 1.  We are excited to announce that we have created a partnership with the CCIU as a Discover job site.  We have a current CCDSIG member in her post grad program interning with us with a job coach.  This is a wonderful first step in preparing the KMEF to accept additional employees coming this November/December. \nWhat to expect:\nAny individual who is interested in possible employment at KMEF is welcome to spend a few hours with us at the shop for a trial period. We will provide training and establish strengths. DESCRIPTION:World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is always March 21st. It is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month\, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (Trisomy) of the 21st\nchromosome which causes Down syndrome. \nPlease join CCDSIG’s Awareness Campaign by creating videos to share at work\, school and/or on social media to educate and inform others about your loved one(s)! DESCRIPTION:This free workshop provides an overview of financial & estate planning for families that have dependents with special needs. We address critical areas of concern\, such as navigating and maximizing government benefits through an overview of programs such as SSI/SSDI\, Waivers & Social Security. The workshop will also address important estate planning considerations such as Wills\, Special Needs Trusts\, and the differences between Guardianship and Powers of Attorney. Finally\, it will raise awareness of how special needs financial planning is different than traditional financial planning. Strategies will be presented to address funding of special needs trusts\, tax planning considerations\, and ensuring quality of life and lifetime care are maintained for loved ones. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a fall experience at Hurricane Hill Farm in West Brandywine.  Enjoy the corn maze\, mini tractor rides\, slides\, corn toss\, and a CCDSIG hayride to the pumpkin field to pick a small pumpkin (one per child). Food/concession will be available (run by the farm) including hot dogs\, hamburgers\, funnel cakes\, caramel apples and more (CCDSIG will have a reserved table). Free for up to four dues paying members per family.  Cost is $10/per person over that.  Children under three are free (registration details coming soon!).
